Job Description

THE CENTRE FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION has the following anticipated vacanc(ies)  for the FALL 2025 Semester – Network Administration Program Daytime (Net-45) September 22 to December 19, 2025. 

TYPE OF CONTRACTS: CHARGE DE COURS (À LA LEÇON) (1-2.12)
COURSE: 420-641-AB
TITLE: Internship
HOURS: ***
SECTION(S): one (1)

***Number of hours to be determined at a ratio of 6.5 hours per student registered in the course.

N.B. Contracts are contingent upon sufficient student enrollment in each course. Starting date, day/time and location for each course to be determined by the Centre for Continuing Education.

COMPUTER SCIENCE (420) –   NETWORK ADMINISTRATION 
•    Bachelor’s or equivalent* degree in Computer Science or a related field. 
•    Minimum of 3 years appropriate professional/industrial experience PREFERRED; 
•    Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level PREFERRED; 
•    Excellent English communication skills REQUIRED. 
•    Some testing may be REQUIRED. 
•    Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as in the context of Bill 96 and the changes to the Charte de la langue française, if there is a need, the candidate must be willing and able to teach in French.

*    Equivalent establishes a general comparison between two official education systems

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSE:
420-641-AB Internship:
•    Experience in teaching Network Administration courses (required)
•    Microsoft Windows Server 2019 (or above) (required)
•    Experience in Linux server administration (preferred)
•    Experience in Active Directory Administration (preferred)
•    Experience in Cloud technologies Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure (preferred)
•    Experience supervising staff and/or student interns in an IT work environment
•    Ability to collaborate with all program stakeholders to achieve the goals of the internship

RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO INTERNSHIP
•    Inform the Program Coordinator of any internship­ related problems (CNESST, absences, psychological harassment, etc.)
•    Monitor, and evaluate students' acquisition of the internship course competencies and provide relevant feedback
•    Ensure that tasks and duties assigned to interns are program-related and that the workload is appropriate:
•    Communicate with the internship host supervisor regarding student progress and industry trends
•    Visit with the interns and their internship supervisor at the host company (on-site or virtual) for the purpose of evaluation
•    Submit to Program Coordinator an internship report at the end of internship (synopsis of placements, issues encountered, points of interest including trends in industry, etc.)

•    Number of hours to be determined at a ratio between 6 — 7 hours per student registered in the course.
•    The candidate who is selected will be required to attend the following training session(s) prior to the beginning of classes:
CNESST Presentation:
    - Bill 59 - An Act to modernize the occupational health and safety regime;
    - Psychological Harassment;
    - Health and Safety Training Courses:
    - Safety Hub courses and quizzes.

DISCLAIMER: These courses will be offered in a hybrid format.

Note: In accordance with art. 4-4.04 of the Collective Agreement, the Selection Committee may, exceptionally, recommend to the College that pertinent additional professional and/or industrial experience be considered in lieu of the stated minimum educational requirement. Candidates to be considered under this option must have completed at least the equivalent of a DEC or AEC. Education superior to the stated minimum requirement may be substituted for professional/industrial experience at the discretion of the selection committee.
